Virtual Visits definition

Virtual Visits means services provided for the treatment of non-emergency medical and behavioral health conditions as described in COVERED SERVICES AND BENEFITS. You and Your means any Member, including Subscriber and Dependents. No eligibility rules or variations in Premium will be imposed based on Your health status, medical condition, claims experience, receipt of care, medical history, genetic information, evidence of insurability, disability, or other health status related factor. Coverage under this Certificate is provided regardless of Your race, color, national origin, disability age, sex gender identity or sexual orientation. Variations in the administration, processes or benefits of this Certificate are based on clinically indicated, reasonable medical management practices, or are part of permitted wellness incentive; disincentives and/or other programs do not constitute discrimination.

Coverage under this Certificate does not require documentation certifying a COVID-19 vaccination or require documentation of post- transmission recovery as a condition for obtaining coverage or receiving benefits under this Certificate. Variations in the administration, processes or benefits of this Certificate are based on clinically indicated, reasonable medical management practices, or are part of permitted wellness incentive; disincentives and/or other programs do not constitute discrimination.
Virtual Visits means certain Covered Services for diagnosis and treatment of low acuity medical conditions delivered to HPN Members through the use of interactive audio, video, or other telecommunications or electronic technology by a contracted HPN Virtual Visit Provider listed as such in the HPN Provider Directory at a site other than the site at which the patient is located. Virtual Visits are available in all states where HPN contracted Virtual Visit Providers offer services. Virtual Visits do not include the use of standard telephone calls, facsimile transactions or e-mail messaging and are only available through designated providers listed as Virtual Visit Providers in the HPN Provider Directory.

Examples of Virtual Visits in a sentence

  • Urgent Care, Retail Health Clinics and Virtual Visits do not require Primary Care Physician/Practitioner Referral.

  • SHL does not require the Provider delivering Virtual Visits to demonstrate the necessity to provide services through Virtual Visits or to receive additional certifications or licenses to provide Virtual Visits.

  • The following Benefit for Virtual Visits is added to Section 1: Covered Health Services: Virtual VisitsVirtual visits for Covered Health Services that include the diagnosis and treatment of low acuity medical conditions for Covered Persons through the use of interactive audio and video telecommunication and transmissions, and audio-visual communication technology.
