Absence for Illness without Sick Leave Credits. If an employee is absent due to illness or injury and the employee has no sick leave credit but does have accrued vacation or overtime credits, each day’s absence may be deducted from such credits at the employee’s written option. In the absence of written notification, such deduction shall be made as a matter of course from the accumulated vacation time and overtime balances, and the employee shall receive full pay for each absence so deducted to the extent of such accumulated but unused vacation and overtime credits.

  • Sick Leave Credits Regular employees who have completed their probationary period will accrue sick leave credits at the rate of one day per month to a maximum of 156 days. Upon completion of their probationary period, an employee will be credited with sick leave back to the employee's starting date.
