Expiration of Sick Leave Credits. Employees who are absent due to sickness beyond their accumulated sick leave credits shall be placed on an unpaid leave of absence until they are in receipt of long-term disability benefits. Expiration of Sick Leave Credits. The Employer shall inform employees, upon request of their sick leave credits. At the expiration of sick leave credits, employees who continue to be off on sick leave shall apply for and be placed on unpaid leave of absence. If the employee is not fit to return to their previous position at the expiry of the unpaid leave of absence, the employee must apply for further leave of absence. Benefits will continue to apply while on paid sick leave.

Expiration of Sick Leave Credits. The Employer shall notify the employee of the expiration of their Sick Leave Days, in the event the employee has no sick leave days the Employer may, at the Employer's discretion, grant the employee use of future sick days during the short-term disability waiting period, such sick days advanced will be deducted from the sick days which the employee is entitled in the following year.

Notwithstanding (a) above, an employee on unpaid medical leave shall continue eligibility under Article 27 (Health and Welfare Plans) for four weeks after the expiration of paid sick leave credits. Employees who wish to continue coverage under Article 27 (Health and Welfare Plans) after this period may do so provided the employee pays the full cost of the premiums.

  • Sick Leave Credits Regular employees who have completed their probationary period will accrue sick leave credits at the rate of one day per month to a maximum of 156 days. Upon completion of their probationary period, an employee will be credited with sick leave back to the employee's starting date.
