Expiration of Sick Leave Credits. Employees who are absent due to sickness beyond their accumulated sick leave credits shall be placed on an unpaid leave of absence until they are in receipt of long-term disability benefits. (Reference Article 37 - Leave – General and Appendix A – Long-Term Disability Insurance Plan.)
Expiration of Sick Leave Credits. The Employer shall inform employees, upon request of their sick leave credits. At the expiration of sick leave credits, employees who continue to be off on sick leave shall apply for and be placed on unpaid leave of absence. If the employee is not fit to return to their previous position at the expiry of the unpaid leave of absence, the employee must apply for further leave of absence. Benefits will continue to apply while on paid sick leave.

If the employee is not fit to return to his/her previous position at the expiry of the unpaid leave of absence, the employee must apply for further leave of absence. Benefits will continue to apply for the first twenty (20) work shifts following the expiration of the sick leave credits. Employees who wish to continue to coverage under Articles 25.1, 25.2, and 25.3, may do so provided the employee pays the full cost of the premiums.
Expiration of Sick Leave Credits. If all accumulated sick leave has expired, an employee may use accrued vacation, compensatory time off credits, or may take an unpaid medical leave. Sick leave time is not accumulated during an absence for sickness exceeding three weeks in any given month.

At the expiration of paid sick leave credits, employees who continue to be off on sick leave shall apply for and be placed on unpaid leave of absence in accordance with Clause 20.5 (Unpaid Leave). If the employee is not fit to return to his/her previous position at the expiry of the unpaid leave of absence, the employee must apply for further leave of absence. Benefits will continue to apply only for the first 20 work shifts following the expiration of the sick leave credits. Employees who wish to continue coverage under Clauses 25.1 (Medical Plan), 25.2 (Dental Plan), 25.3 (Group Life Insurance) and 25.4 (Extended Benefits) may do so provided the employee pays the full cost of the premiums.
Expiration of Sick Leave Credits. The Employer shall notify the employee of the expiration of their Sick Leave Days, in the event the employee has no sick leave days the Employer may, at the Employer's discretion, grant the employee use of future sick days during the short-term disability waiting period, such sick days advanced will be deducted from the sick days which the employee is entitled in the following year.

At the expiration of paid sick leave credits, employees who continue to be off on sick leave shall apply for and be placed on unpaid leave of absence in accordance with Clause 23.5 (Unpaid Leave). If the employee is not fit to return to their previous position at the expiry of the unpaid leave of absence, the employee must apply for further leave of absence. Notwithstanding (a) above, an employee on unpaid medical leave shall continue eligibility under Article 27 (Health and Welfare Plans) for four weeks after the expiration of paid sick leave credits. Employees who wish to continue coverage under Article 27 (Health and Welfare Plans) after this period may do so provided the employee pays the full cost of the premiums.
