Absence Without Pay. (a) During any authorized leave of absence without pay benefits may be maintained provided the employee pays to the employer 100% of the premiums required for coverage during the absence without pay. The employee shall either pay the full amount in advance or pay by pre-authorized monthly debit from the employee’s bank account. (b) The Board shall maintain its contributions towards the Insured Benefits of an employee on sick leave without pay provided: (i) the employee is not on probation; (ii) the employee has been on sick leave without pay for not more than six months since the expiration of sick leave credits; (iii) the employee's share of the premiums is maintained.
