Absences and Leaves. 11.1 Leaves may be with or without pay as specified by the Agreement. 11.1.1 Sick leave and extended illness leave are to be used when the Unit member is unable to work due to illness and/or injury. Sick leave and extended illness leave may also be used to attend medical appointments and/or medical treatment. Sick leave and/or extended illness leave is not to be used for vacation; recreation; political, organizational or civic activities; social activities; association activities; to extend a holiday or vacation; routine personal activities; or job seeking.
