Abuse of Paid Sick Leave Sample Clauses

Abuse of Paid Sick Leave. If the District believes that an employee may be abusing the paid sick leave provisions, the District shall counsel said employee regarding its concern. If the employee continues to use sick leave in a manner that concerns the District, the District may place the employee on sick leave probation, as described in Section 12.5. In determining whether an employee has abused the paid sick leave provisions, the District shall not consider any conduct that occurred more than two (2) years prior to the time at which the District is investigating possible abuse by an employee. If a grievance is filed by an employee in response to counseling regarding abuse of sick leave, the District shall not place the employee on Paid Sick Leave Probation until Step 3 of the grievance procedure (Title 14) has been completed.

  • Paid Sick Leave Employees shall earn and be granted paid sick leave according to the following provisions:

  • Use of Paid Leave ‌ With the approval of the Appointing Authority, employees will be allowed to utilize accrued sick leave, personal holiday or vacation leave when on authorized leave without pay due to illness or injury.

  • Annual Paid Sick Leave Fifteen (15) days sick leave per year shall be earned by an employee at the rate of 1.25 days for every month that an employee is employed.

  • Unpaid Sick Leave The City Manager shall, upon the advice and recommendation of the City physician, grant unpaid sick leave for up to one (1) year upon application of any employee whose paid sick leave is exhausted. Any extension of such leave shall be subject to the Civil Service Board rules.

  • Abuse of Sick Leave Misuse of leave, violation of orders, directives, or contractual requirements concerning the use of sick leave and other forms of leave used in lieu of sick leave are cause for disciplinary action.

  • Misuse of Sick Leave Use of sick leave for that which it was not intended or provided.

  • Accrued Sick Leave The Board shall provide all employees with a cumulative record 23 of accrued sick leave hours on each pay statement.

  • Family Sick Leave An employee may use Family Sick Leave for the illness of a member of the employee's immediate family who requires the care and assistance of the employee. Up to eighty (80) hours per calendar year of the employee’s accumulated unused sick leave may be used for this purpose.

  • Deductions from Sick Leave A deduction shall be made from accumulated sick leave of all normal working days (exclusive of holidays) absent for sick leave.

  • Accrued 100% sick leave The use of sick leave under this subsection is at the employee's discretion.
