Academic Conferences. 25.16 Subject to the approval of the person designated by the Department, School or Faculty where the employee works, and supported by a copy of the invitation to make a presentation as part of an academic conference relevant to the employee’s discipline, an employee shall be granted Conference Leave with pay not to exceed five (5) consecutive days. Conference Leave may only be taken once between September 1 and the following August 31. Academic Conferences. 22.16 Subject to the approval of the appointing Xxxx, and supported by a copy of the invitation to make a presentation as part of an academic conference relevant to the Employee’s discipline, an Employee shall be granted Conference Leave without loss of pay not to exceed two (2) days of scheduled work. Conference Leave may only be taken once between September 1 and the following August 31. The Employee must provide as much notice as possible to his/her Xxxx, but in no event, less than two (2) weeks. In approving such a leave, the Xxxx and the Sessional Lecturer will determine how the missed work can be made up.

  • Professional Conferences Professional conferences are those conferences sponsored by educational organizations, institutions of higher learning, and government and industry concerning teaching, learning and educational research. When a full-time or part-time faculty member’s attendance at a professional conference conflicts with his/her regular assignment, the faculty member must submit a request for attendance to the appropriate Xxxx, Director, or Supervisor. If granted, the attendance at the conference will be considered leave with pay, and a follow-up report of the conference shall be submitted to the appropriate Supervisor.
