Common use of Additional Personal Leave Clause in Contracts

Additional Personal Leave. (a) Employees may access up to five additional days’ personal leave for each completed year of Continuous Service in the Country Teaching Program to access a recognised health facility or service which is located greater than 50 kilometres from the Employee’s residence. Part-time Employees will receive this entitlement on a pro rata basis. (b) The five days’ personal leave may be accessed where the Employee is ill or injured or for the purposes of carer’s leave in accordance with clause 33 – Personal Leave of the Agreement. (c) Where the additional five days are accessed, these days are to be debited before the Employees’ cumulative personal leave. (d) The purpose of the leave must be taken into consideration for the purpose of determining whether the additional sick leave will be debited prior to the 2 non cumulative personal leave days in subclause 33.8. (e) Such additional personal leave days will accrue for the Employee whilst based in a Country Teaching Program school. (f) All accrued additional personal leave days are expunged when the Employee leaves the Country Teaching Program. (g) In accordance with clause 33 – Personal Leave of the Agreement, Employees may be required to provide evidence that will satisfy a reasonable person.
