Advanced Grievance Step Filing. Certain issues which by nature are not capable of being settled at a preliminary step of the grievance procedure or which would become moot due to the time necessary to exhaust grievance steps may, by mutual agreement, be filed at the appropriate advance step. The appropriate step will be determined by mutual agreement of the parties. Grievances concerning dismissals, demotions and suspensions of regular Employees will be initiated by the Union at Step 3 of the procedures set forth in this Article by filing directly with the Division Director or designee, within thirty (30) calendar days from the date the Employee receives notice of the action taken. The same time limits for processing a grievance apply.
