Appropriate Reasons for Leave time unpaid leave of absence may be granted for personal illness that makes it impossible 16 or difficult for the employee to discharge the duties of the employee's job, for illness that 17 necessitates the full-time presence of the employee in the home, for child-rearing or for service 18 in a professional organization in the employee's field. Unpaid leave of absence may be granted 19 for other reasons at the discretion of the Associate Chief Administrator. Such full-time unpaid 20 leaves of absence may be requested and granted for up to one (1) contract year or any part 21 thereof. Typically the leave shall not continue beyond the end of the contract year for which the 22 leave was granted.

  • Reasons for Leave Family Care and Medical Leave may be granted for reason of the birth of a child of the employee, or the placement of a child with an employee in connection with the adoption or xxxxxx care of the child by the employee. If the leave is taken for any of these reasons, the leave must be concluded within twelve (12) months of the birth, the adoption, or the xxxxxx care placement of the child. In addition, leave may be granted because of the serious health condition of a child of the employee, the employee's own serious health condition, or the care of a parent or spouse who has a serious health condition.

  • Reasons for Termination Executive’s employment hereunder may or will be terminated during the Employment Period under the following circumstances:

  • Requests for Leave Except as provided under Section B.3., Family Care/Medical Leave Notification, requests for leaves of absence and extensions, with or without pay, shall be submitted in writing to the University.   • CONDITIONS FOR EMERGENCY/HURRICANE OR DISASTER - TERM CONTRACTS It is hereby made a part of this Invitation for Bids that before, during and after a public emergency, disaster, hurricane, flood, or other acts of God that Orange County shall require a “first priority” basis for goods and services. It is vital and imperative that the majority of citizens are protected from any emergency situation which threatens public health and safety, as determined by the County. Contractor agrees to rent/sell/lease all goods and services to the County or other governmental entities as opposed to a private citizen, on a first priority basis. The County expects to pay contractual prices for all goods or services required during an emergency situation. Contractor shall furnish a twenty-four (24) hour phone number in the event of such an emergency.

  • Request for Leave At any time, employees may request the use of short-term leave (annual leave, compensatory time use, or personal leave). Such request shall be submitted on the appropriate form and approved or denied on the form within one week of submission to the appropriate authority (practices of shorter time periods will be maintained) except that current practices concerning emergency leave requests shall be maintained.   • Authorization for Leave The Chief Superintendent or designee shall be authorized to grant leaves in accordance with the Adoptive Leave Section, with the exception that additional leave requested in accordance with Section 3.6 shall require approval of the Board.

  • Deviation from Grievance Procedure The Employer agrees that, after a grievance has been discussed at Step 2 of the grievance procedure the Employer or his representatives shall not initiate any discussion or negotiations with respect to the grievance, either directly or indirectly with the aggrieved employee without the consent of the xxxxxxx or the Union.

  • Notice of Shift Change The Co-operative agrees to give forty-eight (48) hours' notice when changing a full-time employee's shift, except in the event of an emergency (an emergency is defined as snowstorm, or flood, or breakdown of machinery, or other instances of force majeure or an unscheduled absence of an employee). Should the Co-operative fail to give forty-eight (48) hours' notice of a shift change as indicated above, each affected employee shall receive double (2) time their regular hourly rate of pay for all time worked on the new shift. Mutual agreement of employees to shift changes between each other shall not be deemed covered by this clause, (i.e. the Co- operative will not pay a penalty for this type of a shift change). Such shift changes require the prior approval of management. The Co-operative agrees that wherever possible it shall verbally advise part-time employees twenty-four (24) hours in advance when the Co-operative changes an employee's posted work schedule.
