Association Conferences and Conventions. Upon at least forty-five (45) days’ advance written notice the Hospital will grant up to four (4) nurses designated as delegates to state or national Association conferences and conventions time off without pay to attend such conferences or conventions, subject to the Hospital’s operating needs as determined by the Hospital. The amount of time off available for the use of earned time for vacation during the summer shall be reduced by the amount of time taken during the summer to attend Association conferences and conventions. Requests for time off to attend Association conferences and conventions during the summer shall be submitted not later than March 1st.
Association Conferences and Conventions. The Board agrees to allocate a number of working days not to exceed ten percent (10%) of the number of members in the unit plus four (4) days with pay per school fiscal year in aggregate, to delegates chosen by the Association to attend bona fide Association conferences and conventions. Any employee for whom the Association makes such a request must present to the Board one week in advance of the conference or convention a written request for time off, specifying the dates for each occasion such employee is required to be absent. Such request will be honored unless conditions at work at the time are such that the employee's services cannot be spared. In such case an alternate representative may be designated by the Association. It is agreed that in the calculation of the term “members in the unit” above, Cleaners and Cleaning Leads shall not be included in the calculation for the purposes of this section. However, Cleaners or Cleaning Leads shall be entitled to use days from those in the above paragraph if so designated by the Association.

  • Professional Conferences Professional conferences are those conferences sponsored by educational organizations, institutions of higher learning, and government and industry concerning teaching, learning and educational research. When a full-time or part-time faculty member’s attendance at a professional conference conflicts with his/her regular assignment, the faculty member must submit a request for attendance to the appropriate Xxxx, Director, or Supervisor. If granted, the attendance at the conference will be considered leave with pay, and a follow-up report of the conference shall be submitted to the appropriate Supervisor.

  • Conferences and Meetings Attend meetings with Contractor, such as preconstruction conferences, progress meetings, job conferences and other project-related meetings, and prepare and circulate copies of minutes thereof.

  • Parent-Teacher Conferences A. Unit member shall be available at mutually arranged times during the regular school day to confer with parents regarding learning difficulties, student progress and/or behavioral problems a student may be experiencing. Unit members are encouraged to arrange a meeting or conference with parents before or after the regular school day if both time and place are mutually agreeable. B. In the event that a bargaining unit member does not communicate with a parent on the established date for parent unit member conferences as per the calendar adopted by the Board, a reasonable attempt to contact that parent will be made. A reasonable attempt constitutes a phone call or email. If that contact is not returned, the bargaining unit member shall not be obligated to make further contact.

  • Meetings and Conferences ‌ From time to time the Government may require attendance at Government conferences and meetings at no additional cost to the Government.

  • Conference Telephone Meetings Directors or members of any committee of the Board may participate in a meeting of the Board or such committee by means of conference telephone or similar communications equipment by means of which all persons participating in the meeting can hear each other, and such participation in a meeting shall constitute presence in person at such meeting.

  • Union Conventions Subject to the approval of the supervisor(s) concerned, and upon written request submitted at least twenty (20) working days in advance, leave of absence without pay shall be granted to not more than two (2) employees at any one time, who may be elected or selected by the Union to attend any authorized labour convention. Such leave of absence is to be confined to the actual duration of the convention and the necessary travelling time. Such leave shall not exceed ten (10) working days per year for each employee to whom such leave is granted.

  • Preconstruction Conference Prior to, or concurrent with, the issuance of the Notice to Proceed with Construction, a conference will be convened for attendance by the Owner, Contractor, A/E and appropriate Subcontractors. The purpose of the conference is to establish a working understanding among the parties as to the Work, the operational conditions at the Project Site, and general administration of the Project. Topics include communications, schedules, procedures for handling Shop Drawings and other submittals, processing Applications for Payment, maintaining required records and all other matters of importance to the administration of the Project and effective communications between the project team members.

  • Evaluation Conference The final evaluation conference shall occur not later than the end of the fall term. The purpose of the final evaluation conference is to discuss with the probationary employee the results of the evaluation and announce the team’s recommendation. The evaluation team shall determine what additional evaluation activity shall occur during the spring term. If the team recommends that the District not employ the professor for the following year, no evaluation activities in the spring are necessary.
