ASSOCIATION AND TEACHER RIGHTS A. Pursuant to Act 379 of the Public Acts of 1965, the parties hereby agree that teachers shall have the right freely to organize, join, and support the Association for the purpose of engaging in collective bargaining or negotiation and other concerted activities for mutual aid and protection. As a duly-elected body exercising governmental power under cover of law of the State of Michigan, the Board undertakes and agrees that it will not directly or indirectly discourage or deprive or coerce any teacher in the enjoyment of any rights conferred by Act 379 or other laws of Michigan or the Constitutions of Michigan and the United States; that it will not discriminate against any teacher with respect to hours, wages, or any terms or conditions of employment by reason of his/her membership in the Association, his/her participation in any activities of the Association or collective professional negotiations with the Board, or his/her institution of any grievance, complaint, or proceeding under this Agreement or otherwise with respect to any terms or conditions of employment. The Association likewise agrees that it shall not intimidate or coerce any teacher in the exercise of his/her rights set forth herein or under law.
Duration and Denunciation 1. This Agreement shall remain in force for a period of twenty (20) years and shall be extended thereafter for the following twenty (20) year periods unless, one year before the expiration of the initial or any subsequent period, one Contracting Party notifies the other Contracting Party of its intention to denounce the Agreement. In that case, the notice of denunciation shall become effective by the expiration of current period of twenty (20) years.
Association Dues 5.01 In every pay period, the Board shall deduct from every pay of each Occasional Teacher the appropriate amount of dues as authorized by the Constitution of the Association and directed by its Executive.
ASSOCIATION RIGHTS The Association and its members shall have the right to:
Association Grievance A grievance, as defined in Section 7.1, relating to occurrences actually involving at least three (3) nurses or arising under the Association Representative article, may be initiated by the Association at Step 2 of the above-mentioned procedure by the filing of a written grievance, signed by a representative of the Association, within 35 calendar days from the date of occurrence. Such grievance shall describe the problem and the contract provisions alleged to have been violated.
Association Release Time Subd. 1. The Employer and the Association agree that the release of an ASF Member from normal job duties to perform other service shall be governed as follows:
Association Membership In accordance with applicable laws, the Employer/Appointing Authority shall not discriminate against, interfere with, restrain or coerce an employee from exercising his/her right to join or not to join the Association, or participate in an official capacity on behalf of the Association, which is in accordance with the provisions of this Agreement. The Association shall not discriminate against, interfere with, restrain or coerce an employee from exercising the right to join or not to join the Association, and will not discriminate against any employee in the administration of this Agreement because of non-membership in the Association.
Association Fees Buyer is aware that 2020 annual fees have been established for the Subdivision according to the Restrictions and that Buyer will be responsible for the annual association fee of $800 (which will be prorated for the year of closing). Buyer is also aware that they will deposit $500 with the Association at the closing in addition to the Lot purchase price as an Initial Fee.
Association Interview The Association will be allowed to interview newly employed nurses during the Hospital’s general orientation and, when possible, be notified of the date for the interview at least two (2) weeks in advance.
Association Grievances If a grievance affects a group of employees or the Association, the Association may initiate and submit such grievance to the Superintendent directly, and the processing of such grievance shall commence at Step 2. Grievances involving more than one supervisor and grievances involving the administrator above the building level may be filed by the Association at Step 2.
