Best Practice in Education. (a) Introduction (i) The parties to this Agreement recognise that enterprise bargaining provides an appropriate opportunity to promote and implement a Best Practice approach to work, management and service delivery within the Department. (ii) The parties are committed to progressing the development and implementation of a Best Practice approach to work, management and service delivery. The concept of Best Practice will be promoted across the areas of learning and teaching, school management and workforce management. (iii) The parties accept that a Best Practice approach to work and management issues within these three areas can contribute to organisational structures and work processes that promote quality, flexibility and responsiveness, which eliminate waste and repetition and which directly contribute to or support enhanced educational outcomes for students. (b) Definition (i) The parties agree to accept the following definition of Best Practice for the purposes of establishing a broad framework to progress Best Practice within the Department. (ii) Best Practice is an integrated and continuous organisational strategy which seeks to achieve and maintain a world class standard in all aspects of an organisation's operations, which is focussed on client outcomes, and which simultaneously enhances the quality of working life for employees."

  • Health Promotion and Health Education Both parties to this Agreement recognize the value and importance of health promotion and health education programs. Such programs can assist employees and their dependents to maintain and enhance their health, and to make appropriate use of the health care system. To work toward these goals:

  • Training and Education SECTION 1 – Law Enforcement Supervisors’ Training

  • Labor-Management Cooperation When an Appointing Authority initiates a planning process or management study which is anticipated to result in layoff, the Appointing Authority will meet and confer with the Local Union during the decision planning phase and again during the implementation planning phase. The Appointing Authority and the Local Union shall enter into negotiations regarding a Memoranda of Understanding upon request of either party to modify this Agreement regarding the implementation plans which shall include, but are not limited to, the following: • Length of layoff notice; • Job and retraining opportunities; • Alternative placement methods; • Early retirement options pursuant to M.S. 43A.24, Subd. 2(i); • Bumping/vacancy options for part-time employees to preserve their insurance eligibility or contribution; and • Other methods of mitigating layoff or their effect on employees.

  • In-Service Education The parties recognize the value of in-service both to the employee and the Employer and shall encourage employees to participate in in-service. All employees scheduled by the Employer to attend in-service seminars shall receive regular wages.

  • Outreach and Education The agencies agree to coordinate, conduct joint outreach presentations, and prepare and distribute publications, when appropriate, for the regulated community of common concern. • The agencies agree to work with each other to provide a side-by-side comparison of laws with overlapping provisions and jurisdiction. • The agencies agree to provide a hyperlink on each agency’s website linking users directly to the outreach materials in areas of mutual jurisdiction and concern. • The agencies agree to jointly disseminate outreach materials to the regulated community, when appropriate. • All materials bearing the DOL or DOL/WHD name, logo, or seal must be approved in advance by DOL. • All materials bearing the OEAS name, logo, or seal must be approved in advance by OEAS.

  • Board of Education If the unit member and the Association are not satisfied with the decision at Stage 2, the Grievance Committee will file an appeal in writing with the Board of Education within fifteen (15) school days after receiving the decision at Stage 2. The official grievance record maintained by the Superintendent of Schools shall be available for the use of the Board of Education.

  • Union Education If the local union indicates to the Hospital that its members have approved a special assessment for union education in accordance with the CUPE constitution and local union by laws, the Hospital agrees to deduct this assessment. Such assessment will be paid on a quarterly basis into a trust fund established and administered by OCHU/CUPE for this purpose.

  • General Education University Program Requirements All MTA applicable courses require a grade “C” or higher

  • Affordable Care Act The Affordable Care Act requires a Contractor, if Contractor is an applicable large employer under the ACA, to provide healthcare coverage for its employees who provide services for the State and work for 30 or more hours per week. This coverage must also cover the eligible employee’s dependents under the age of 26. The coverage must (a) meet the minimum essential coverage, minimum value, and affordability requirements of the employer responsibility provisions under Section 4980H of the Code (ACA), and (b) otherwise satisfy the requirements of the Code § 4980H (ACA).

  • Anti-Money Laundering/International Trade Law Compliance No Covered Entity is a Sanctioned Person. No Covered Entity, either in its own right or through any third party, (i) has any of its assets in a Sanctioned Country or in the possession, custody or control of a Sanctioned Person in violation of any Anti-Terrorism Law; (ii) does business in or with, or derives any of its income from investments in or transactions with, any Sanctioned Country or Sanctioned Person in violation of any Anti-Terrorism Law; or (iii) engages in any dealings or transactions prohibited by any Anti-Terrorism Law.
