BUSINESS NEED Sample Clauses

The Business Need clause defines the underlying reason or justification for entering into the agreement or undertaking a particular project. It typically outlines the specific objectives, goals, or requirements that the parties aim to fulfill through their collaboration, such as improving operational efficiency, meeting regulatory requirements, or launching a new product. By clearly stating the business rationale, this clause ensures that all parties have a shared understanding of the purpose behind the agreement, which helps align expectations and provides a reference point for evaluating the success of the arrangement.

BUSINESS NEED. The senior population is growing and more and more seniors are choosing to live at home independently. ADEs among seniors constitutes a large portion of the U.S. healthcare cost in hospitalizations and ED visits. Currently, there are mainly passive surveillance system of ADEs and with the FDA Adverse Event Reporting System, it is voluntary and there is no denominator showing the number of patients that took the medication or were prescribed the medication (which can come from EMRs and pharmacies) and it is also unknown as to the percentage of ADEs that are even reported. Currently ADEs are reported voluntarily when there is a hospitalization, ED visit, or fatality. Many of these ADEs amongst seniors with CHF are due to memory loss and taking many pills without assistance or guidance. They may visit many providers who prescribe medications without the knowledge of their existing medications. They may also be taking over the counter medications that the provider is unaware of. Some of the pills that seniors with CHF take can lead to serious ADEs if not taken properly, and these require blood tests. Many of these ADEs are preventable with the right guidance and intervention.
BUSINESS NEED. In developing countries, access to essential medicines is tremendously inadequate, and there is a major need to improve the availability of affordable medicines. A study conducted in 2012 found that public health facilities in Tanzania had very high levels of medication stock-outs, with only 37% of facilities being in stock for any given drug (Wales). Additionally, there is no formal procedure to track inventory, assess medication stock outs, document medication procurement sources, and abide to recalls by drug manufacturers. Currently, there is not enough data to assess the level of access to medicines, especially in rural areas of Tanzania, and therefore, there is a need for a standardized pharmacy inventory management system that can provide inventory tracking for rural clinics and health facilities, and that can provide data regarding the inventory, availability, accessibility, and affordability of core medicines.
BUSINESS NEED. Billions of dollars are spent annually on the development and conduct of clinical research in the United States alone. Clinical trials, especially phase III trials, have gotten larger and become increasingly more complex with the average length of one trial increasing by 70% and the clinical research staff work burden by 67% from 1995 to 2005. This impact is thought to have grown even greater in recent years (▇▇▇▇▇▇, 2017).The exponential growth in the complexity of conducting clinical research has resulted in the development of niche research systems used to meet a variety of clinical and administrative research needs. These siloed systems often hinder organizational workflow by requiring transcription of data across multiple databases, threatening data quality, and extending research timelines by requiring prolonged data cleanup periods. Such a duplicative data entry process also detracts from clinical duties and productivity. A solution to addressing these issues is needed.
