Calendar Committee. There shall be a Calendar Committee which shall be a standing committee composed of eight members whose function it will be to establish and consider revisions of the academic calendar or calendars. a. The committee shall be composed of two persons appointed by the President of the University, two persons appointed by the President of the St. John’s Chapter of the American Association of University Professors, two persons appointed by the President of the Faculty Association at St. John’s University, and two persons appointed by and from the respective student governments. The chairperson of the committee shall be elected by and from the membership of the committee. The committee shall report to the President of the University with its calendar recommendations. b. Should the President, for compelling reasons, reject any of the recommendations submitted to him, he shall so notify the committee in writing, stating his reasons therefor.
