Catastrophic Sick Leave. Definition: Catastrophic Leave is intended for exceptional and demonstrable 15 hardship case, and is not to be considered or treated as a routine extension of paid 16 status for employees who have, by previous absences, exhausted their sick leave 17 and vacation leave. Catastrophic leave shall be limited to the unit member and 18 member’s immediate family including parents and children.
