Child Care Unpaid Leave. Starting in their THIRD year, AFTER completion of the twelve (12) weeks unpaid Family/Medical Leave, teachers who are primary caregivers for new babies may take unpaid Child care leave for the remainder of the semester and also, if desired, for the following semester. Notice of intent to do so must be in writing to the Director prior to the start of the twelve (12) weeks unpaid Family/Medical leave. Normal return to work dates would be at the beginning of a semester, unless the Administration together with the Teacher has previously agreed, in writing, upon a different date. Health benefits continue through the employee's leave. Dependent premiums must be paid to the School. Pension benefits will not continue through the Employee's leave. Leave will not result in the loss of previously accrued seniority of employment benefits, but neither will any benefits accrue during the leave.

Child Care Unpaid Leave. For the purpose of child care, the husband, whose wife has just given birth, may request and shall be granted an unpaid parental leave not to exceed one (1) year, that is 365 days from the day the parental leave begins. The employee is expected to give notification to the Superintendent at least thirty (30) days in advance of the date he anticipates he will begin his leave.

Upon application and at the discretion of the Director, these benefits may also be granted to Faculty whose workload is less than 50% that of a full-time faculty member.

  • Child Care Leave (a) An employee who is a natural or adoptive parent shall be granted upon request in writing child care leave without pay for a period of up to thirty-five (35) weeks. The leave may be shared by the parents or taken wholly by one (1) parent.

  • Unpaid Carer’s Leave (a) An employee is entitled to a period of up to 2 days unpaid carer’s leave for each occasion when a member of the employee’s immediate family, or a member of the employee’s household, requires care or support during such a period because of:

  • Extended Unpaid Leave Upon written request, a permanent employee who has completed two (2) years of service shall be granted unpaid leave to a maximum of twelve (12) months, subject to the operational requirements of the Employer's operations and the availability of qualified replacement staff. An employee shall be entitled to up to a maximum of twelve (12) months unpaid leave for each two (2) years of service with the understanding that no employee can have more than twelve (12) consecutive months of unpaid leave at any one time. While on such leave employees shall continue to accumulate service, unless they would have been otherwise laid off, for seniority purposes only. The minimum amount of unpaid leave an employee may have under this Clause is eight (8) weeks. An employee will not be granted extended unpaid leave to take another position with the same Employer whether inside or outside a bargaining unit.

  • Extended Unpaid Maternity Leave (a) An employee is entitled to apply for leave without pay following Maternity Leave (“extended unpaid Maternity Leave”) to extend their leave by up to two years.

  • Unpaid Leave 6. Accrued compensatory time off may be used at the employee’s discretion, with management approval, after exhaustion of 100% sick leave (No. 3 above). However, FLSA compensatory time off shall not be counted against the employee’s four (4) month (nine [9] pay period [720 hours]) family or medical leave entitlement. Therefore, any use of FLSA compensatory time off under this Section shall extend the employee’s family or medical leave by the total amount of FLSA compensatory time off used.

  • Childcare Leave Every employee who has served the Company for at least 3 months shall be entitled to childcare leave in accordance with the provisions of the Child Development Co-Savings Act or the Employment Act, as the case may be.

  • Family Care Leave In accordance with RCW 49.12 and WAC 296-130, employees shall be allowed to use any or all of their choice of sick leave or other paid time off to care for a family member (as defined above) who has a serious health condition or an emergency condition. Employees shall not be disciplined or otherwise discriminated against because of their exercise of these rights.
