Child Care Leave definition

Child Care Leave. Infant child care leave will be granted in accordance with Section A of this article.
Child Care Leave means a leave of absence without pay to provide a period of time immediately following an Adoption Leave for a parent to care for a newly adopted child.
Child Care Leave shall be without pay for the period outside the period of sick leave as may be medically certified.

Examples of Child Care Leave in a sentence

  • Child Care Leave without pay is available to parents or guardians of natural or adopted children.

  • Such notice shall include a statement as to whether the faculty member intends to return to a position after termination of the Child Care Leave.

  • Such FMLA Leave will be deducted from the period allowed under the Child Care Leave provisions.

  • The faculty member shall notify in writing, the faculty member’s department head, of the expected date of Child Care Leave, as early as possible, in order that the search for a suitable replacement may begin.

  • Faculty members shall have a right to a Child Care Leave extending for a period of three (3) months or one (1) academic semester (with the department head having the discretion of final approval of the period of three [3] months or one [1] academic semester).


More Definitions of Child Care Leave

Child Care Leave. A child care leave of absence shall be granted upon request, to an employee who becomes the parent of a newborn child. An employee adopting a child shall receive similar leave that shall commence upon the placement of the child in the adoptive parent’s home. Such leaves shall be granted under the following conditions:
Child Care Leave. A leave of absence without pay for the purpose of child care shall be granted to employees in accordance with the following:

Child Care Leave may be taken for a period of between one (1) day and one (1) year.
Child Care Leave means a leave of absence without pay to provide a period of time immediately following an Adoption Leave for a parent to care for a newly adopted child. To be eligible for Child Care Leave, an employee must have been continuously employed by the Board for a period of two (2) years. An employee who is eligible for Child Care Leave may apply at the same time as a Leave or no later than sixty (60) days prior to the date the Leave is to end. The of an Leave and a Child Care Leave granted under this Collective Agreement shall not exceed one (1) year and seventeen (17) weeks. An employee on Child Care Leave shall not be paid employee benefits during the period of Leave Such employee may retain his membership in any plan to which he was registered at the beginning of the leave, by paying full premiums applicable where this is within the terms of the Board’s contract with the insurer. An employee returning to the Board from a Child Care Leave shall be offered employment with the Board at the same level at which he left. If, however, no position exists at the level the employee held prior to the leave, then the rate will be paid for one (1) year. After that time, the employee will be paid at the job rate of position she holds. Leave of absence granted because of Child Care Leave shall not be charged to the Sick Leave Plan and No Sick Leave Credits shall accrue. An employee returning from Child Care Leave shall have existing sick leave benefits, Retirement Gratuity credits and seniority fully reinstated A position held by an employee going on Child Care Leave shall be filled on a permanent basis.
Child Care Leave. A leave of absence without pay for the purpose of child care shall be granted to employees in accordance with the following: DURATION: Any leave of absence granted under this Article shall be up to thirty seven (37) weeks as specified by the employee. If two (2) employees are involved, the aggregate amount of such leave that may be taken by two (2) employees in respect to the care of any one (1) child shall be up to thirty seven (37) weeks. Such leave may be shared by the employees upon request subject to the sharing being taken in periods of no less than fourteen (14) calendar days. Notwithstanding the provision of Article in the case of adoption the period of leave shall be up to thirty seven
Child Care Leave is taken by a woman following childbirth after that time her physician has declared her able to return to work, or by an employee for the birth or adoption of a child. “Family medical leave” is taken by an employee for the illness of an employee’s immediate family or for a serious health condition of the employee or a member of the employee’s immediate family after applicable sick leave benefits are exhausted.
