Christmas and New Year’s Schedule. An employee shall have Christmas or New Year's Day off, save and except in cases of an emergency when it is not possible. Time off at Christmas shall include Christmas Eve, afternoon shift, and Christmas Day. Time off at New Year's shall include New Year's Eve, afternoon shift, and New Year's Day. An employee who qualifies to receive pay for any holiday or a lieu day will not be entitled, in event of illness, to receive sick leave benefits in addition to the holiday pay or a lieu day in respect of the same day.
