New fire fighters shall also be issued a complete uniform wardrobe, which shall be returned to the City if the fire fighter fails to complete the probationary period satisfactorily or to meet the paramedic certification requirement. Clothing Allowance. The Company shall furnish and pay for uniform equipment for employees as required. The style and quantity of specific items shall be determined by the Company. Such uniforms shall remain the property of the Company and must be returned upon an employee leaving the Company. All uniform items, including shirts, shall be replaced on a one to one basis only when deemed appropriate by management. The Com- pany shall direct the appropriate uniform dress code. Each employee shall be assigned a locker. C. An Employee’s clothing allowance account may be drawn upon by each Employee during the year by obtaining the authorized approval for the purchase of uniforms at a place of business, or businesses, designated by the City Township. The Chief of Police, or his designee, shall make payment for expenditures pertaining such items through vouchers direct to the business provided the Employee has received advance approval of the purchase.
D. The Chief of Police, care or his designee, shall issue a complete and maintenance definitive list of regulation fire fighter clothing authorized uniforms and appropriate related equipment not furnished business places.
E. The Chief of Police or his designee shall issue an annual statement to each Police Officer showing the amount charged against the officer's uniform allowance. This statement shall be issued following the first yearly purchase and/or thirty days prior to the second yearly purchase.
F. The Township shall pay the cost for the cleaning of two (2) uniforms per officer per week. In accordance with the Local Public Contracts Law, the Township shall designate a local cleaning establishment that will clean the uniforms and payment will be made directly to that cleaning establishment by the City. Said payment shall be Four Hundred Fifty Dollars ($450.00) per year Township.
G. The Township will prepare a listing of the Agreement, payable on the 15th day of May for each year of uniforms and equipment considered to be included as "standard" purchases under this Agreement. In the event that any part of the present uniform and/or equipment is changed or added, then such changes shall be borne by the Township and shall not be considered part of the yearly clothing allowance.
H. Each plain-clothes Employee shall substantiate the purchase of clothing within sixty (60) days of the issuance of the allowance.
I. Upon notice of transfer out of plain-clothes duty, the Employee will be required to repay all unsubstantiated monies not previously expended by the Employee.
J. The Township will pay the cost for the cleaning of two (2) suits per plain-clothes officer per week. In accordance with the Local Public Contracts Law, the Township shall designate a local cleaning establishment that will clean the suits and payment will be made directly to the cleaning establishment by the Township.
K. The purchasing and replacement of vests are not an item which will be considered to be purchased with the clothing allowance for employees who are scheduled to retire prior to the following April 30th shall be adjusted prorataas set forth above. On the May 15th immediately following the initial hiring, the fire fighter shall receive a prorated clothing allowance based upon the number of months worked prior to May 15th. Clothing Allowance. All A. The Township agrees to pay an annual clothing allowance of $450.00 per year for the life of this Agreement only to new employees during the period of employment during which they are on the salary xxxx xxxxx. Employees shall cease to receive a separate clothing allowance effective January 1st of the year in which they are eligible to be paid the maximum salary amount. Protective clothing having normal wear and tear as well as having accidental damage in the performance of the employee's duties shall be replaced at the expense of the Township from this fund. D. The employee shall bear the City for expenditures pertaining to cost of replacing personal protective equipment within the purchase, care and maintenance guidelines of regulation fire fighter clothing and appropriate related equipment not furnished by PEOSHA only when the City. He or she shall be additionally responsible for obtaining and possessing adequate quantities of required uniforms as well as insuring that uniforms purchased and worn meet Nashua Fire Department approved standards.
D. The City shall pay will furnish each employee with approved protective clothing and any special protective clothing and equipment as required in the opinion of the Chief or his/her designee to safely perform their duties. The exact specifications for the increased cost equipment will be discussed with the safety committee and must comply with limits set by the budget.
E. Upon separation from employment, all property issued by the City to any employee who so separates, must be returned by the separated employee to the employees occasioned by such changeChief or his designee(s) at the Fire Department's Administrative Offices.
F. The Department agrees to pay the cost of a cleaning contract for the cleaning of the mechanics work clothing. Clothing Allowance. SECTION 1: All new employees employed under this AGREEMENT for the first time, shall receive new or in new condition: one (1) short sleeve black shirt, one (1) long sleeve black shirt, two (2) khaki 5.11 pants, black boots, leather duty belt, under belt, four (4) belt keepers, leather cuff case, flashlight carrier, flashlight, chained handcuffs and glove pouch. SECTION 3: Each non-probationary employee covered by this AGREEMENT shall receive an annual clothing allowance of not less than one thousand one hundred ($1,100), and paid directly to the employee in two lump sums in separate warrants, specifically one half (five hundred-fifty - $550.00) to be paid by the City 15th of December, and one half (five hundred-fifty - $550.00) to be paid by the 15th of June. Such allowance must be utilized for expenditures pertaining to the purchase, care maintenance, or repair of required uniform components and maintenance equipment as defined in the Office Rules and Regulations. SECTION 4: If an employee terminates employment prior to serving the entire twelve (12) month probationary period, all uniforms/equipment items shall be returned in satisfactory condition within fifteen (15) days of regulation fire fighter clothing and appropriate related equipment departure or face possible criminal charges. .
SECTION 5: The EMPLOYER shall reimburse the employee for reasonable costs for replacement or repair of eyeglasses, including contact lenses, damaged or destroyed in the line of duty. The EMPLOYER shall reimburse the employee for reasonable costs, not furnished to exceed eighty ($80.00) dollars, for replacement or repair of a wristwatch damaged or destroyed in the line of duty. Reimbursement under this Section shall be allowed if it is determined through investigation by the CitySheriff or his designee that such loss was incurred in the employee's line of duty. 18.02 All Facilities employees shall be reimbursed, upon production of a receipt, for the fire fighter fails to complete purchase of CSA approved safety footwear and insoles following the completion of the probationary period satisfactorily and as follows:
a) Full Time Employees & Gardeners – up to one hundred and sixty-five dollars ($165.00) per calendar year thereafter. It is understood that unused amounts may be carried over to the next year only if the Employee so desires, and that the allowance covers both regular and insulated (winter) work boots.
b) Seasonal/Casual Employees – up to ninety–six dollars ($96) every calendar year. It is understood that unused amounts may be carried over to the next year only if the Employee so desires, and that the allowance covers both regular and insulated (winter) work boots.
18.03 Employees who report to work without the appropriate safety footwear or not in proper uniform will not be permitted to meet the paramedic certification requirementtake duty.
