Common use of Committee Responsibility Clause in Contracts

Committee Responsibility. (a) The Committee is a public body established under and with powers provided by the statutes of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and nothing in this Agreement shall be deemed to derogate from the powers and responsibilities of the Committee under the statutes of the Commonwealth or the rules and regulations of agencies of the Commonwealth. As to every matter not covered by this Agreement, the Committee retains the powers, rights and duties that it has by law and may exercise the same without any such exercise being made the subject of a grievance or arbitration proceeding here under. (b) Subject to the provisions of ARTICLE 21(b) of this Agreement, the Committee shall have the right to promulgate rules and regulations pertaining to the Administrators so long as the rules and regulations do not conflict with any terms or conditions of this Agreement.
