Common use of Community Service Leave Clause in Contracts

Community Service Leave. 24.1 Employees are entitled to community service Leave in accordance with the provisions of the NES (refer to Chapter 2, Part 2-2, Division 8 of the Act). 24.2 Eligible community service activities (a) entitle an employee, acting reasonably, to be absent from employment for periods including: (i) time when the employee engages in the activity; (ii) reasonable travelling time associated with the activity; (iii) reasonable rest time immediately following the activity. (b) include: (i) jury service (including attendance for jury selection) that is required by or under a law of the Commonwealth, a State or a Territory; or (ii) a voluntary emergency management activity; or (iii) an activity prescribed in regulations made for the purpose of subsection (4).
