Community Volunteers. The District may, after notifying CSEA, use volunteers to perform duties that are not routinely performed by classified staff on any of the Sonora Union High School District campuses. Such duties may include, but not be limited to, campus beautification projects. Prior to the performance of such volunteer work, the District shall meet and confer with CSEA regarding the scope of the project, the number of unit members needed to supervise the work, and what future impact, if any, the project may have on existing staff and workloads. The parties agree that the District may not use the terms of this provision to supplant the duties of current staff or preclude the rehiring of classified staff on the thirty-nine (39) month reemployment list. The terms of this provision do not negate the District’s authority to employ short-term employees in accordance with Education Code section 45103.
