Common use of Compensatory Leave Clause in Contracts

Compensatory Leave. (a) Overtime shall be compensated in cash except where, upon request of an employee, overtime may be compensated in equivalent leave with pay. (b) The Corporation shall grant compensatory leave at times convenient to the employee and the Corporation. (c) Compensatory leave with pay not used by the end of the fiscal year in which it is earned may be carried over to the next fiscal year, and if not liquidated by the end of that fiscal year then payment in cash will be made. Payment will be at the employee’s hourly rate of pay as calculated from the classification prescribed in her certificate of appointment as at the end of the fiscal year. (d) The Corporation will pay overtime compensation on or before the second Thursday following the end of the pay period in which it was worked.
