Construction Safety. 9.4.1. The Contractor shall be responsible for establishing, initiating, maintaining, and supervising all health and safety precautions and programs in connection with the performance of the Work in accordance with the applicable health and safety legislation.
Construction Safety. Prior to contract award, the successful bidder must provide a Certificate of Recognition or Letter of Good Standing issued by an occupational health and safety organization approved by the Workers’ Compensation Board of Nova Scotia.
Construction Safety. 9.4.1 Subject to paragraph 3.2.2.2 of GC 3.2 – CONSTRUCTION BY OWNER OR OTHER CONTRACTORS, the Construction Manager shall be responsible for .1 construction health and safety at the Place of the Work in compliance with the rules, regulations and practices required by the applicable construction health and safety legislation, and .2 establishing, initiating, maintaining and supervising all health and safety precautions and programs in connection with the performance of the Work.

Construction Safety. The Contractor shall be required to jointly coordinate the overall project safety with each of the other Prime Contractors employed on the project. Below as a minimum are the standards for safe practices that shall be used in these coordination efforts by all personal assigned to this project.

Construction Safety. 3.6.1 The Contractor shall perform all of the obligations of the ‘constructor’, within the meaning of the OHSA, and shall be solely responsible for construction safety at the Place of the Work and for compliance with the rules, regulations and practices required by the OHSA. The Owner will contractually require other contractors retained by the Owner and the Owner’s own forces to comply with the Contractor’s safety program and safety instructions, and the Contractor, as constructor, will have the right to remove the other contractors retained by the Owner and the Owner’s own forces from the Place of the Work should they not comply with the Contractor’s safety programs and safety instructions. Without limiting the Contractor’s obligation pursuant to this paragraph, the Contractor shall ensure that all Subcontractors’, Suppliers’ and Sub-Subcontractors’ Work is in accordance with the OHSA. The Owner shall have the right to assign to the Contractor the work of the other contractors retained by the Owner or the work of the Owner’s own forces solely for the purpose of coordination of such work and safety training and safety compliance for all persons engaged in such work and, if such coordination, safety training and safety compliance results in a material increase in the Contractor’s cost, the Contractor shall be compensated for such coordination, safety training and safety compliance in accordance with the provisions of PART 6 – CHANGES IN THE SCOPE OF THE WORK.

Construction Safety. All contracted construction work will be performed per OSAH 29CFR§1926 standards, the contractor is responsible for ensuring that their employees are trained to and follow these OSHA standards. The City of Lakeland’s Safety Team reserves the right to inspect all worksites and advise the contractor or their representatives on adjusting the work site, if needed.
