Common use of Continuing Education Leave Clause in Contracts

Continuing Education Leave. A teacher shall, upon written request to the Principal, be granted a leave of absence without pay for purposes of pursuing a full-time course of studies in an accredited institution of higher learning. Such leave shall be granted to any teacher of at least three (3) years service to the school. Such leave shall be granted for one (1) school year, with a possibility of renewal for one (1) additional school year upon the teacher's written request to the Principal prior to April 1st of the first school year. The provisions of Article 15.7(E) also apply. Failure to register for a full-time course of studies shall be deemed an automatic resignation.
