Unpaid Educational Leave. After one (1) year of continuous employment, permission shall be granted for leave of absence for a maximum of one (1) year without pay for study, without loss of accrued benefits.
Unpaid Educational Leave. Applications for unpaid educational leave shall be accepted on an annual basis. To be eligible for unpaid educational leave, the full-time employee must be employed before October 1 of the year prior to the year in question. If he/she is employed on or after October 1, he/she may be scheduled for educational leave in the following year. A full-time employee who does not apply for educational leave waives it for that year. The State may require a report from the employee on unpaid educational leave describing the activities involved.
Unpaid Educational Leave. (see 2.8)
10.5.1.1 Upon agreement among the Xxxx, Coordinator and employee, an educational leave without pay or benefits may be granted for up to a maximum of 24 months. Any employee granted such leave shall arrange to maintain benefit coverage pursuant to 9.10.4.
10.5.1.2 An unpaid educational leave may be taken as a full-time or part-time leave.
10.5.1.3 Agreement by the Xxxx and Coordinator in 10.5.1.1 shall not be unreasonably withheld.
Unpaid Educational Leave. It is the expressed intent of the Employer to promote continued education by employees of the State and, in furtherance of this policy, the State agrees to grant employees unpaid educational leaves of absence in accordance with the following procedure:
1. The Employer agrees that at any one time up to fifteen (15) employees per bargaining unit may be granted an unpaid educational leave of absence not to exceed one (1) year in duration. Selection of employees shall be on the basis of seniority and operational efficiency of the agency.
2. To be eligible for unpaid educational leave, an employee must have completed at least three (3) years of service. The Employer will not be required to permit more than two (2) employees to be on unpaid educational leave simultaneously from the same work
Unpaid Educational Leave. 21 After completing one (1) year of service, an employee upon request may be 22 granted a leave of absence without pay for educational purposes at an accredited 23 school when it is related to his or her employment. The period of such leave of 24 absence shall not exceed one (1) year, but it may be renewed or extended upon the 25 request of the employee when necessary. 26 One (1) year leaves of absence for educational purposes, including any 27 requested extension, shall not be granted more than once in any three (3) year 28 period.
Unpaid Educational Leave. Up to twenty-four (24) hours of leave without pay per year, pro-rated for FTE, shall be granted for educational purposes, providing nursing services will not be jeopardized. Paid Educational/Professional Leave/Time: After six (6) months of continuous regular employment, employees shall be allowed up to fifty-six (56) hours of paid leave/time per year, pro-rated for FTE, for education or professional purposes, providing such leave/time shall be subject to scheduling requirements of the Employer, approval by the Employer of the subject matter and certification of attendance and/or completion of the course, where applicable. Educational/professional leave/time may be used on an hourly basis. Educational/professional leave/time accrues on a calendar year basis. Unused time may not be carried over to the next calendar year.
Unpaid Educational Leave. Up to twenty-four (24) hours of leave without pay per year shall be granted for educational purposes, providing PT/OT services will not be jeopardized. Paid Educational/Professional Leave/Time: After six (6) months of continuous regular employment, employees shall be allowed up to forty (40) hours of paid educational/professional leave/time per year, pro-rated for FTE, providing such leave/time shall be subject to scheduling requirements of the Employer, approval by the Employer of the subject matter and certification of attendance and/or completion of the course, where applicable. Educational/professional leave/time may be used on an hourly basis. Educational/professional leave/time accrues on a calendar year basis. Unused time may not be carried over to the next calendar year.

Unpaid Educational Leave. Employees may be granted a leave of absence without pay by the Appointing Authority, subject to approval by the Civil Service Commission, for educational purposes. Such leave shall initially be limited to sixty (60) calendar days with possible extensions up to one (1) year provided such further educational pursuits are related to the operations of the City.
Unpaid Educational Leave. An unpaid leave of absence may be granted to the teacher for the purpose of professional growth through further education, travel, or public service. If an unpaid educational leave is granted by the Board, the leave will be taken in accordance with the following guidelines, namely:
(a.) The teacher shall have been continuously employed by the Board for not less than seven (7) full school years, and shall not have taken a leave of absence under this provision, or an equivalent provision, within five (5) years preceding the application.
(b.) A written application bearing the endorsement and approval of the Superintendent and the Principal shall be filed with the Board no later than April 15 and shall contain at least the following information:
(1.) A description of the nature of the educational improvement contemplated.
(2.) A description of the expected benefits to be derived by the School District, and
(3.) The desired time for the commencement and termination of the leave.
(c.) The leave of absence shall not exceed one (1) year, provided that a leave may be extended by the Board upon prior written application from the teacher. The Board may further restrict the total number of teachers on an educational leave of absence at any one time to not more than one (1) teacher from each building but not to exceed a total of four (4) teachers at any one time from the entire staff. The Board shall have the right to deny or to delay the commencement of the leave if the absence of the teacher has assumed a professional responsibility or if a qualified replacement cannot reasonably be found to fill the vacancy that would be created by the absence of the applicant during the period requested. A leave of absence shall not be terminated early without the prior approval of the Board.
(d.) A teacher shall be credited with time on a leave of absence for purposes of advancement on the salary schedule.
(e.) A teacher completing more than one-half of the school year will advance to the next step on the salary schedule. Those teachers who do not work at least one-half of a school year will not advance on the salary schedule for the following school year.
