Daily and Weekly Hours of Work. The Hospital does not guarantee any hours of work per day or days of work per week with respect to any employee covered by this Agreement. The normal or standard work day for full time employees shall be seven and one-half (7 ½) hours exclusive of an unpaid meal period. In the case of departments where employees are required to seven and onerotate on the day, evening and/or night shifts, the Employer will endeavour to arrange shifts there will be a minimum of twenty-half three (7 ½23) hours exclusive between the beginning of shifts and change over of shifts and of thirty-nine (39) hours if there is one day off and of sixty-three (63) hours if there are two (2) days off between the chancre over of shifts. The employer may allow an unpaid meal periodexchange of shifts at the of two employees provided that its approval is obtained in advance and that no additional cost of the employer results from such exchange of shifts. The Hospital will endeavor to schedule shifts for part time employees on as equitable a basis as is practicable subject to the employee’s availability and the Hospital’s ability to operate within their specific operational requirements.
(b) There will be minimum of sixteen (16) hours scheduled off between shifts when changing shifts, unless for reasons beyond the control of the Hospital. Time seven and one-half the employee’s regular straight time rate hours in a tour of pay shall duty or seventy-five hours in a bi- weekly period, it being understood, however, that no overtime will be paid for all authorized hours where the time worked during such sixteen (16) hour period, unless otherwise agreed to by the employee, Union and the Hospital.
(c) Whenever practicable, employees (except those in the maintenance department) shall not be scheduled to work more than seven (7) consecutive days.
(d) At least one weekend will be scheduled off in each two week period for full time employees. The Hospital shall schedule each regular part time employee at least one weekend off in each three week period. Should a part time employee work on her scheduled weekend off, she shall receive premium payment at time and one-half of regular wage rate for all hours worked on such weekend, save and except where:
(i) such weekend has been worked by an employee to satisfy specific days off requested by such employee; or
(ii) such employee has requested weekend work, or
(iii) such weekend is worked as was a result of an exchange of shifts between employees. It is understood and acknowledged that the Hospital has the right to require employees to perform reasonable authorized overtime work. Call back shall not be considered as hours worked for the purpose of this Article. Overtime premium will not be duplicated nor pyramided nor shall other premiums be-duplicated nor pyramided nor shall the same hours worked be counted as part of the normal work week and also as hours for which the overtime premium work overtime will not be required to take time off in regular hours to make up for overtime worked. Daily and Weekly Hours of Work. The Hospital does not guarantee any hours of work per day or days of work per week with respect to any employee covered by this Agreement. The normal or standard work day for full time employees shall be seven and one-half (7 ½) hours exclusive of an unpaid meal period.
