Full-Time and Part-Time. The prepaid leave provisions as set out in Article 11.11 of the Collective Agreement shall apply provided the overall total does not exceed ten (10) nurses at any one time and no more than one (1) at any one time in any one unit.

Full-Time and Part-Time. An employee who is required to have a medical examination and/or produce a doctor’s certificate pursuant to this agreement, shall be reimbursed by the employer for such expense upon producing a proper receipt. Full-Time and Part-Time. The Employer shall not eliminate a full-time position by reason of assigning all of the existing duties of the full-time position to one or more part-time positions. Where the duties of a full-time position are reduced or eliminated the Employer has the right to assign the remaining duties, if any, to a part-time position.

The employee should review with their Director/designate as soon as possible after notification by the specialist the date and time of the appointment. The employee does not need to disclose details with respect to the nature of the appointment to their Director/designate. Part time employees who need to alter their schedule due to specialists’ appointments will maintain their equalization of opportunity to work.
Full-Time and Part-Time. (a) The Hospital will schedule a minimum of five (5) consecutive days off at either Christmas or New Year’s. It is understood that individual nurses may waive this provision in writing. It is understood and agreed that additional lieu days may only be utilized by mutual agreement of the Hospital and the nurse in order to provide additional days off. Before the schedule is posted, if the Employer is able to grant both Holidays off, it will be offered by seniority subject to patient care requirements. (b) Nurses will be granted these holiday periods on an alternating basis from year to year in their work unit, based on what was originally scheduled in the previous year. However it is recognized that the Hospital may utilize its right to adjust the staffing according to patient requirements.

Full-Time and Part-Time. The employee will call the Director/designate to notify the Employer they are unable to attend work due to illness. An employee who continues to be ill on the fourth (4th) and fifth (5th) day of an illness will report to the Occupational Health Unit upon return to work. If an employee is ill for more than five (5) days they will require a Physicians certificate of illness to qualify for sick pay upon the request of the Employer. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the Employer may require the employee to provide proof of disability, satisfactory to the Employer, at any time in order to qualify for benefits under HOODIP, not to be administered unreasonably. It is the responsibility of the employee to keep the Employer informed of their status and regular contact must be maintained.
