Dangerous Devices. Possession, use, or threatened use of firearms, fireworks, ammunition, explosives, chemicals, or any other objects as weapons on University property or at University sponsored/ supervised activities, except as expressly authorized by law or University regulation, are prohibited.
Dangerous Devices. 1. Residence Life maintains a controlled firearms room in each residence hall. All firearms, ammunition, spring or air powered devices designed to expel a projectile by the action of powder, compressed air, gas, compressed spring, or by any chemical action, archery equipment, crossbows, and any other similar devices must be checked into the storeroom.
2. Access to the storeroom is controlled by Residence Life staff. If a resident wishes to check out a firearm or other device, they must contact a staff member and once checked out, must immediately remove the firearm or device from the building. Upon return to campus, the firearm or device must be immediately checked into the storeroom with a staff member. All firearms must have a trigger lock in place while on University property. At no time may firearms or any other device listed above be taken into a residence hall room.
3. The following items are not allowed in the residence halls:
a. Any knife having a blade that projects or swings into position by force of a spring, by centrifugal force, or by gravity.
b. Any dirk, dagger, metal knuckles, blackjack, sap, or similar instruments.
c. Any explosive or dangerous chemicals, fireworks, or any other objects as weapons except as specifically permitted by this contract or EOU policy

Misuse of personal defensive devices (e.g., xxxx, pepper spray, electroshock weapons, etc.) is prohibited. Misuse of laser pointers is prohibited. Air weapons are considered “near lethal” and as such are not allowed on campus. Possession of air soft weapons is grounds for termination of License Agreement.

b. Possession of knives with a culinary purpose or a blade no longer than three (3) inches is allowed in the residence halls.
c. The following items are not permitted within the residence halls: Any knife having a blade that projects or swings into position by force of a spring, by centrifugal force, by gravity, or by any other force (i.e. switch blade) Any “combat knife” (i.e. KA-BAR, bayonet, machete, dirk, dagger, and/or hatchets) Ceremonial swords
d. Misuse of personal defensive devices (pepper spray for example) is prohibited. The owner is responsible and accountable for any misuse of these devices.

Resident may not possess, use, or threaten use of firearms, fireworks, ammunition, explosives, chemicals or any objects that may be used as a weapon, in violation of Oregon Tech Policies. Concealed weapons are prohibited, even with an authorized permit. Additionally, the following items are prohibited in University housing and, if found, may result in the item(s) being confiscated or impounded, and Resident may be subject to disciplinary actions:
(a) Firearms, including but not limited to, BB guns, air guns, bows and arrows, and water balloon launchers. Resident may arrange with Campus Safety for firearms storage.
(b) Ammunition, explosives, dangerous chemicals, martial arts weapons, or any other object that could be used as a weapon (i.e. metal knuckles, or similar instruments).
(c) Any knife or blade, including, but not limited to, a KA-BAR, bayonet, machete, dirk, dagger, hatchet, or sword (ceremonial or otherwise). However, knives manufactured for a culinary purpose or having a blade less than 3 inches in length are allowed.
