Degree majors. Degree majors will be reviewed and approved by the Fire Chief. For current employees seeking additional degrees, the course of study will be reviewed and approved by the Fire Chief in advance. Appeals may be directed to the Administrative Services Director for final determination.
Degree majors. All labor in the functional areas specified below shall have a major in at least one of the following subjects: • Business Related Disciplines – Business administration, business management, economics, finance, or accounting. • Engineering or Engineering Discipline – When used in relation to educational or work experience requirements, "engineering" shall mean any of the following specific subjects, disciplines, or areas of work experience: aerospace, chemical, electronics, industrial, human systems, mechanical, biomedical, safety, engineering systems or engineering technology. Engineering disciplines include disciplines from a school where the specified curriculum was accredited by the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET). • Science/Technical Disciplines – When used in relation to educational or work experience requirements, "technical discipline" shall mean a degree in the field of Mathematics, human systems, physiology, computer science, information systems, management, aerospace engineering/pilot, computer engineering, physics, electrical engineering, and mechanical engineering.

The principal of each building in which the Educator serves must review and sign the evaluation, and may add written comments. In cases where there is no predominate assignment, the superintendent will determine who the primary evaluator will be.
