Additional Degrees. A teacher who earns a Master’s Degree or Doctorate Degree from a Canadian University or a degree recognized by Q.E.C.O., after earning placement in Category A4, shall receive an allowance as follows: i) Master’s Degree - 1% of the individual’s category placement; ii) Doctorate Degree - 1.5% of the individual’s category placement; iii) A teacher will be eligible for only one allowance outlined in (i) or (ii) above. Individuals receiving an allowance for a position which includes a degree outlined above as a qualification for the position, are not eligible for this allowance.
Additional Degrees. The increases specified in paragraphs (1) and (2) above shall also be granted to each eligible Employee who, during one of the specified periods, completes all requirements for a second terminal degree or an additional graduate or professional degree from an accredited graduate or professional school if the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇/Vice President for Academic Affairs has agreed in writing that the Employee should undertake the degree program for the purpose of increasing her/his academic skills or to develop expertise in additional areas directly related to her/his professional assignment.

Additional Degrees. 1. Any bargaining unit nurse who attains a BSN or MSN degree will receive a Quality Step Increase (a single basic pay adjustment of one step within the occupied grade). Any nurse who is at the top basic rate of pay for the grade at the time of becoming eligible shall receive a one-time cash lump sum payment equal to 3.5% of salary. The obligation to supply proof of qualification will rest with the nurse. 2. Any bargaining unit nurse who attains a degree in a health related field which is determined by the Employer to be directly related to performance of assigned duties, will receive a Quality Step Increase (a single basic adjustment of one step within the occupied grade).
