DEPARTMENT CHAIR REASSIGNED TIME. Reassigned time hours for faculty governance of department chairpersons shall be assigned in accordance with the following: For Diablo Valley College: 42 lecture hour equivalents each semester For Los Medanos College: 21 lecture hour equivalents each semester For Contra Costa College: 21 lecture hour equivalents each semester These allotments shall be distributed for faculty governance in accordance with Section 11.1.1. In addition to these hours and the moneys previously allocated to department chair stipends, effective 7/1/02 the amounts allocated shall be augmented by $200,000, and effective 7/1/09, the total funding for reassigned time allocated to department chairs will be increased by $138,000 (indexed to salary schedule B-2).

DEPARTMENT CHAIR REASSIGNED TIME. Department chair reassigned time shall be applied to the chair’s regular full-time load. An explanation of the reassigned time-based Department Chair Compensation can be found in Appendix G and on the Department Chair Compensation Form.
DEPARTMENT CHAIR REASSIGNED TIME. Department chairs shall be compensated with reassigned time based upon the procedures outlined below.

  • Department Chairperson The department Chairperson has the dual responsibility of leading the department in fulfilling its responsibilities in academic and personnel areas and of facilitating the functioning of the department. The department Chairperson is the normal channel of communications between the department and other departments, division/areas or like groupings, offices and the administration.

  • Reassigned Time Each faculty member who coaches students for intercollegiate forensics competition shall receive at least two (2) credits reassignment time for each semester, in which he/she fulfills such responsibility.

  • Department Chairs The release time required to perform the administrative functions of the Department Chair positions shall be deducted from the total workload of the Department Chair with no less than fifty percent (50%) of this release taken from direct instructional duties.

  • Department Chairpersons The principal shall designate a high school librarian to serve as department chairperson, and such chairperson shall attend all school department chairperson meetings.

  • Department’s Contract Manager The Department’s Contract Manager, who is primarily responsible for the Department’s oversight of the Contract, will be identified in a separate writing to the Contractor upon Contract signing in the following format: Department’s Contract Manager Name Department’s Name Department’s Physical Address Department’s Telephone # Department’s Email Address If the Department changes the Contract Manager, the Department will notify the Contractor. Such a change does not require an amendment to the Contract.

  • Employee Personnel Files 1. There shall be only two files established for maintenance of employee performance and discipline records. The official personnel file, secured at the SPS office and the working building/program file secured at the building/program.

Grievances shall not be kept in the employee’s official personnel file. Employees shall be informed as to where their personnel file is maintained.

  • DEPARTMENT'S REPRESENTATIVE The Contract Administrator shall be the Department's representative during the period of this Contract. He/she has authority to curtail services if necessary to ensure proper execution. He/she shall certify to the Department when payments under the Contract are due and the amounts to be paid. He/she shall make decisions on all claims of the Provider, subject to the approval of the Commissioner of the Department.
