Department Chair Stipends. The Department Chair Stipend Schedule appears in Appendix A. (An explanation of the pay structure can be found in Appendices A and G.) 2.2.4.1 Department Chairs are elected by the department and recommended to the College President for approval. 2.2.4.2 The level of stipend is dependent upon the criteria listed in Appendix G.
Department Chair Stipends. A bargaining-unit member who serves as chairperson shall receive a salary stipend for each semester served as Department Chair which shall be added to their base annual faculty salary in accordance with the Chair Compensation Model. Departments are evaluated each year according to the factors in the Chair Compensation Model and are assigned a basic level according to a number of factors, using a three-year rolling average based on pertinent official University data. The basic stipend associated to each level shall be as follows: Stipends will be issued retroactively to July 1, 2023 to all bargaining unit members as of that date according to the chart and Chair Compensation Model.
Department Chair Stipends. In consideration of the foregoing, every department chair shall be paid an annual stipend in an amount equal to seven thousand five hundred dollars ($7,500); provided, however, that any member of the Bargaining Unit who, in respect of any academic year, shall serve as department chair for less than the whole of such academic year shall be paid a proration of such stipend for such academic year. Such determinations are not appealable. It is understood that this $7,500 stipend will be given to any Department Chair irrespective of the size of the department and shall not be the subject of renegotiation based on the sixe of the department by the faculty.
