Description of Structure. 8 (a) Structure of the System—Academic Professional positions are organized into the following job 9 groupings (families) based upon the job responsibilities involved: 11 • Academic Services 12 • Administrative Support 13 • Advising and Student Services 14 • Communications/Marketing 15 • Field, Research and Outreach Services 16 • Fiscal Services 17 • Healthcare Administration 18 • Legal and Compliance 19 • Library 20 21 Within each job grouping, Academic Professional positions are divided into various job levels: 22 23 • Technical and Administrative Support - Levels 1, 2, and 3 24 • Individual Contributor - Levels 1,2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 25 26 Any new job family classification and any deletions of a job family or families in the current 27 classifications will be subject to consideration by the Academic Professional Appeals Advisory 28 Committee and agreement between the University and the Association. 29 30 (b) Levels within families and pay ranges are identified in Article 30 (SALARY) of this Agreement. 31 Available on the Office of Human Resources’ website are descriptions for the job groupings (families) 32 and levels along with representative duties and examples of titles. 33 34 (c) Changes in Job Family Definitions: Substantial changes in family definitions which result in the 35 potential for a lower salary range shall require the parties to agree upon the salary range for the newly 36 revised family definition. 37 38 Section 4. If the Academic Professional and 43 Supervisor believe the position description updates are significant enough to warrant a change to job 44 groupings and/or career track and level, they shall make a request for a position placement review to 45 Human Resources when they update the position description. 46
