Disability Services Coordinator. This position is responsible to the ▇▇▇▇ of Students. The position may include duties as follows: a) reviews documentation, conducts interviews and determines eligibility for accommodations of students with disabilities b) identifies and implements effective and reasonable accommodations for students with disabilities, according to established policies, guidelines and best practices c) reviews relevant legislation and its application to post-secondary sector; assists with policy development and revision as needed d) provides direct support services to students with disabilities, including learning assistance and training with assistive technology e) communicates with faculty regarding the implementation of accommodations, including the identification, recruitment and training of note-takers and other classroom assistants f) provides assistance with grant applications from government and other external agencies for service and technology supports g) promotes increased awareness of disability issues to the campus community h) maintains confidential files and records of activities i) performs such other appropriate duties as may be assigned by the ▇▇▇▇ of Students through consultation with the incumbent.
Disability Services Coordinator. MA or MS degree in Counseling with course work in one of the following subfields disability services, community counseling, college student personnel, school counseling. AND • L.P.C. Licensed Professional Counselor or L.L.P.C.
