District Professional Development Time. Of the 186 teacher duty days provided in “ARTICLE VII, Section 1.,” an additional sixteen (16) hours of professional development time shall be scheduled by the District. A plan for the District’s sixteen (16) hours of professional development time shall be developed by the “District Leadership Team”, for the following school year, no later than May 1 of each year. The “District Leadership Team” may amend the District plan after that date, provided that any change in dates for professional development activities allows affected teachers choices in selection of dates for participation. All professional development time that is mandated by the District or by another agency or funding source shall be included within these sixteen (16) hours.

District Professional Development Time. Each certificated employee will verify participation in at least thirty (30) hours of District Professional Development Time which is included in the Responsibility Contract. Before October 15th the District will publish, and then update monthly, a menu of approved activities. The purpose of District Professional Development Time activities is to further the District’s instructional plan. Included in the District Professional Development Time menu will be options where certificated employees can propose activities through their building principal and/or through an appropriate Director of Instruction. Upon approval, such options can be submitted for verification. Certificated Employees opting not to participate in, or verify participation in approved activities, will have the pro rated equivalent deducted from their contract or pay.

  • Professional Development Funds 23.1.1 Two Professional Development Funds, a Professional Development Support Fund and an Education Leave Fund, shall be established to support professional development activities as defined in 23.2. On April 1st of each year, the College will allocate an amount equal to no less than 0.9% of total faculty salary (exclusive of severance payments) to the Professional Development Support Fund, and an amount equal to no less than 0.6% of total faculty salary to the Educational Leave Fund. Any unused balances in these funds shall carry over to the next budget year.

  • Professional Development Program (a) The parties agree to continue a Professional Development Program for the maintenance and development of the faculty members' professional competence and effectiveness. It is agreed that maintenance of currency of subject knowledge, the improvement of performance of faculty duties, and the maintenance and improvement of professional competence, including instructional skills, are the primary professional development activities of faculty members.

  • Professional Development 9.01 Continuous professional development is a hallmark of professional nursing practice. As a self-regulating profession, nursing recognizes the importance of maintaining a dynamic practice environment which includes ongoing learning, the maintenance of competence, career development, career counselling and succession planning. The parties agree that professional development includes a diverse range of activities, including but not limited to formal academic programs; short-term continuing education activities; certification programs; independent learning committee participation. The parties recognize their joint responsibility in and commitment to active participation in the area of professional development.

  • Local Professional Development Committee 1. The Local Professional Development Committee (LPDC) shall be established to oversee and review professional development plans pursuant to ORC 3319.22.

  • Continuing Professional Development 30.1.7 If, during the life of the Agreement, Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is introduced for plumbers, all time spent in complying with the CPD obligations will be the responsibility of each plumber.
