Downward Reclassification Compensation. The pay for an employee reclassified downward will not change if the employee’s current salary falls within the range for the lower graded position. An involuntary downward reclassification will require an updated job description for the new position prior to the employee moving into that position so the employee is provided with the opportunity to understand the new expectations. If the involuntary downward reclassification requires certifications or other qualifications not part of the previously held position, the College will assist the employee financially in achieving those new qualifications. The need for a downward reclassification will also be discussed with the Union Co-Presidents prior to the effective date as a courtesy and will have no changes in management rights.

  • Downward Reclassification a. When a position is reclassified to another class at the same pay level or to a class that carries a lower salary range, the incumbent trial service or regular employee shall be accorded corresponding status in the new class.

  • Upward Reclassification When a position is reclassified upward a regular incumbent shall be continued in the position. He/she shall be advanced to the higher class with the same status held in the lower class if he/she meets minimum experience and training requirements. When a position is reclassified upward and the incumbent does not have regular status, the position will be filled competitively at the higher level.

  • Salary on Reclassification The salary of a regular, limited-term or probationary employee whose position is reclassified shall be determined as follows:

If the employee wishes to remain on call, the employee must be able to appear in court not more than one hour after being notified that the employee's appearance is required in court. To appear in court more than an hour after having been notified will void the employee's right to on-call compensation. An employee need not remain at home, but must be available for telephonic notification at a location where the supervisor knows the employee can be reached.
