Duty During Emergencies. Employees shall remain on duty as needed in the event of emergency situations such as, but not limited to, severe weather warning, civil or student disturbances or situations which may threaten the health or safety of students. Employees remaining on duty during emergency situations shall be covered by insurance.

Duty During Emergencies. In emergency situations teachers shall remain on duty as deemed necessary by the Building Principal. Such emergencies shall be defined as, but not limited to, severe weather warnings, student disturbances, or other situations or conditions, which may threaten the health or safety of students. When students are dismissed early under emergency situations, teachers shall be released from duty where there is a threat to their health or safety after it is determined that no students will be returning to the buildings.
Duty During Emergencies. Teachers shall remain on duty, as long as necessary, in the event of emergency situations involving severe weather warnings. Other situations where there is a threat to the health or safety of students/employees and the teacher is required to remain beyond his/her normal work day, said teacher shall be compensated at his/her hourly rate of pay on a pro rata basis.

  • Illness During Vacation (The following clause is applicable to full-time employees only) Where an employee's scheduled vacation is interrupted due to serious illness, which either commenced prior to or during the scheduled vacation period, the period of such illness shall be considered sick leave. Serious illness is defined as an illness which requires the employee to receive on-going medical care and/or treatments resulting in either hospitalization or which would confine the employee to their residence or to bed rest for more than three days. The portion of the employee's vacation which is deemed to be sick leave under the above provisions will not be counted against the employee's vacation credits.

  • Benefits During Layoff Temporary Full-Time and Regular Full-Time Employees who have gained seniority rights and who are laid off from employment due to lack of work shall be entitled to leave without pay status until the end of the calendar month following the month during which layoff occurs, for purpose of continuing coverage under the Health and Welfare Benefit plans on which they have been enrolled, e.g., B.C. Medical, Extended Health, Dental Plan, Group Life Insurance, Long Term Total Disability Plan, and Optional Additional Life Insurance coverage. The City agrees to ensure that such leave without pay status and benefit coverage continues in effect at the employee's cost during such period, provided that such cost is paid in advance by or recovered from the employee concerned.
