E-Health Project. The current expansion of the national high speed data network which presently covers all 21 aimag centers and 285 soums throughout Mongolia and an intensive acquiring of sophisticated medical equipment and information systems by public and private hospitals serves as the grounds for introduction of e–health solutions to health care system including PACS. PACS is used by all healthcare providers who are ordering, producing and/or viewing digital medical images. Images are acquired in soum, aimag or district hospitals or diagnostic centers either digitally or converted into digital format. After local quality control, the images are sent to the PACS via a secure data exchange environment established with the XXXX. Images are then stored and archived in the PACS. Referring physicians, radiologists and other healthcare professionals can retrieve digital images from the PACS to their workstations through the XXXX infrastructure for viewing. Images would be distributed from the PACS using web based viewing software.
