Employee and GREA Rights. 2.1 Right to organize, join and assist GREA: The Board agrees that employees shall have the right to organize, join, and assist the GREA, to participate in professional negotiations with the Board through representatives of their own choosing and to engage in other activities, individually or in concert, for the purpose of establishing, maintaining or improving conditions for professional service and the educational program. As a duly elected body exercising governmental power under the law of the State of Illinois, the Board agrees that it will continue not to discourage directly or indirectly, or deprive any employee his/her rights in the enjoyment of any right conferred by the laws of Illinois, of the Constitution of the State of Illinois or the Constitution of the United States, and that it will continue not to discriminate against any employee with respect to hours, wages, terms, or conditions of employment by reason of his/her membership in any association, his/her participation in any negotiations with the Board not to discriminate against any employee in his institution of any grievance, complaint, or proceeding under this Agreement. The Association members shall be allowed to meet one day per month at 3:00 p.m. or later for association meetings. This will not interfere with an employee’s assigned duty(ies), unless permission is granted by administration.

  • Employee Development The Employer may provide employees the opportunity to participate in appropriate seminars, workshops or short courses. When possible and appropriate the Employer will provide to all staff information on seminars, workshops or short courses by posting a notice on the Employer’s internal web site.
