Employee Education. (A) At the discretion of the Agency Head or designee, the state may allow employees to attend short courses, institutes, and workshops which will improve their performance in their current position, without a loss of pay and benefits. (B) Such training/education shall be considered as time worked and may be granted if: the employee applies in advance in writing specifying the course and his objectives related to his position; the employee obtains permission of his Agency Head; and such training/education does not interfere with agency services. (C) Subsections (A) and (B) above do not preclude the state from assigning employees to attend training courses. Such required training shall be consistent with the employee’s position description.
