Extended Adoptive Leave. A teacher who has adopted a child is eligible for an extended leave of absence as provided below.

  • Adoptive Leave A leave of absence of up to one (1) year shall be granted by the Board for adoptive purposes. A maximum of five (5) days with pay shall be provided for such leave. The remainder of the leave shall be without pay, except the teacher may elect to have an additional fifteen (15) days of the leave with pay provided the teacher authorizes the deduction of the additional fifteen (15) paid days from the teacher’s accumulated illness leave. Adoptive leave cannot be taken in conjunction with teaching summer school or intersession.

  • Extended Sick Leave When sick leave extends for more than 25 consecutive working days, the appointing authority shall initiate the following procedure:

  • Parental Leave/Adoption Leave (a) An employee who requests leave under paragraph (i), (ii), or

  • Retirement Leave (a) Full-time nurses who:

  • Intermittent Leave 7 Intermittent leave without pay used in lieu of sick leave is not 8 subject to the six (6) month entitlement provided for above. When such leave significantly 9 affects an employee’s job performance and is not subject to the requirements of law 10 (including but not limited to the FMLA), management may evaluate the employee’s use of 11 leave according to the criteria of “Section B.2.c” above. Medical information as provided 12 for in “Section D.1” above may be required for the evaluation. After completing the 13 evaluation management may do one of the following:

  • Funeral/Bereavement Leave In the event of death in the immediate family of an employee, the employee will be granted leave of absence with pay, with consideration given to travel time for the purpose of attending the funeral. The length of such absence shall be at the discretion of the Employer. The term "

  • Management Leave The County will credit each full-time management employee who is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and not eligible for time-and-a-half overtime under this Agreement with forty (40) hours of management leave every July 1. Employees in seventy-five- (75) hour, eligible job classes, part-time employees in eligible job classes, and employees hired into eligible job classes after the effective date will be credited with a pro-rated amount of management leave. Employees newly appointed between July 1 and October 31 shall be credited with five (5) days of management leave for that fiscal year. Any such employee appointed between November 1 and February 28 shall be credited with two and a half (2-1/2) days of management leave for the balance of that fiscal year. Any such employee appointed between March 1 and May 31 shall be credited with one (1) day of management leave for the balance of that fiscal year. Any such employee appointed between June 1 and June 30 shall receive no management leave for that fiscal year. This pro-ration shall also apply to employees who have returned from an approved leave of absence where they were in leave without pay status. Management leave is credited to eligible employees as acknowledgement of the extra hours that management employees are required to work from time to time. Management leave is not a vested right nor compensation for services rendered and as such is not subject to payout upon separation from employment. Unused management leave will carry over from fiscal year to fiscal year as long as the incumbent is a regular-hire employee of the County.

  • Cyclic Employment Leave Leave without pay will be granted to cyclic year employees during their off season.

  • Extended Personal Leave Leave without pay for up to one (1) year may be granted to a teacher provided said teacher has been actively employed for five (5) continuous contract years preceding the granting of this leave and has not been granted an extended part-time leave within that period. Application for said leave shall include a statement indicating the purpose of the leave and shall be submitted, except in unusual circumstances, as determined by the District, thirty (30) days prior to the date the leave is to commence.
