Common use of Extension of Leaves Clause in Contracts

Extension of Leaves. ‌ Regular Crown Counsel entitled to adoptive, maternity and parental leave shall be entitled to an extended leave of up to an additional six (6) months when requested. A written request must be received by the Employer at least eight (8) weeks prior to the expiration of the leave taken pursuant to Article 11, except in situations where such notice could not be given due to health reasons and a doctor’s certificate is presented. In addition, if eight (8) weeks’ notice cannot be given due to other unforeseen circumstances, the Employer shall consider the request, and may or may not grant the leave.
