Family Related Responsibilities. For the purposes of this section, family is defined as spouse (or common law spouse resident with the employee), dependent children (including xxxxxx children or children of legal or common law spouse, parents, (including step-parents or xxxxxx parents), or any relative permanently residing in the employee’s household or whom with the employee permanently resides. Up to five (5) days of leave, non cumulative from year to year, will be granted, per annum, for the employee to accompany a dependent family member to medical or dental appointments, to appointments with school authorities or adoption agencies, for the immediate and temporary care of a sick member of the employee’s family and to provide sufficient time to make alternate care arrangements where illness is of a larger duration than expected.
