Family Related Leave. An employee shall be entitled to up to five (5) days of leave with pay in each fiscal year to be granted on the recommendation of the employing authority as follows and charged against the employee’s sick leave credits:
Family Related Leave. 21:01 An employee shall be entitled to up to five (5) days of leave with pay in each fiscal year to be granted on the recommendation of the employing authority as follows and charged against the employee’s sick leave credits:
(a) The leave shall be for the purpose of attending to family responsibilities which are real, immediate and unavoidable and which necessitate the employee’s absence from work;
(b) The family responsibilities of the employee could not reasonably be accommodated by some other person or in some other way or at some other time;
(c) The amount of leave is intended to cover the period until appropriate alternative arrangements can be made.
21:02 An employee’s sick leave accumulation Under Article 19 - Sick Leave will not be reduced to less than twelve (12) days per year as a result of the application of this provision.
Family Related Leave. (a) Employees may use up to five (5) days of accumulated sick leave credits per fiscal year to attend to family related matters. Family related leave may be granted for a variety of reasons including, but not limited to: • caring for ill family members; • assisting dependent family members in attending at medical and dental appointments; • emergency child care (e.g. school snow days, unavailability of regular day care services, etc.) and • special family functions.
(b) Family related leave may also be used to extend bereavement leave or to provide bereavement leave in circumstances where the VON Bereavement Leave policy would not apply. However, family related leave may not be combined with vacation leave or paid holidays in order to extend these leaves.
(c) If an employee does not utilize any or all of the five (5) family related leave days in a fiscal year, such days will not accumulate or be carried forward into the next fiscal year, but rather will remain as accrued sick leave.
(d) When requesting family related leave, a minimum of five (5) days notice is normally required. In an emergency or urgent situation leave may be granted with a lesser period of notice and will not be unreasonably denied.
Family Related Leave. Short-term Leave may be granted at the discretion of the Custodial Supervisor (for Custodial/Part-Time Staff) or the Senior Manager of Plant Operations (for Maintenance Staff) with pay. Such leave will not be unreasonably requested or denied. It is understood that the first three days of such leave will be with pay and any additional time will be without pay.
Family Related Leave. An employee is entitled to five (5) days or thirty (30) hours without pay for the employee to meet their family responsibilities in relation to the needs of his or her spouse, parent, child, step-parent, step-child, current xxxxxx child, sibling or in-laws.
Family Related Leave. The Employer shall grant an employee use of accumulated credits for up to five (5) days in a year for family-related purposes. For the purposes of this Article, it is agreed by the parties that any such leave shall accumulate towards the Hospital’s obligation to provide similar unpaid leave under the Employment Standards Act.
Family Related Leave.
27:01 Employees requesting Family Leave shall contact their immediate supervisor and inform them of the reason for leave as soon as possible prior to the first day of the leave being requested. The immediate supervisor will contact the Executive Director or designate to determine if the employee has the time required in their accumulated sick leave bank and who may, if available, grant the leave up to a maximum of six (6) days per fiscal year.
27:02 The leave shall be for the purpose of attending to family responsibilities which are real, immediate and unavoidable and which necessitate the employee’s absence from work.
(a) The family responsibilities of the employee could not reasonably be accommodated by some other person or in some other way or at some other time.
(b) The amount of leave is intended to cover the period until appropriate alternative arrangements can be made.
Family Related Leave. An employee will be entitled to up to three (3) days with pay in each fiscal year, to attend to family and personal responsibilities including illness of immediate family members. Unused Family Leave days will not be paid out or carried over to the following year.
Family Related Leave. 31:01 An employee shall be entitled to up to six (6) days of leave with pay in each calendar year to be granted on the recommendation of the Employer as
(a) The leave shall be for the purpose of attending to family responsibilities which are real, immediate and unavoidable and which necessitate the employee’s absence from work.
(b) The family responsibilities of the employee could not reasonably be accommodated by some other person or in some other way or at some other time.
(c) The amount of leave is intended to cover the period until appropriate alternative arrangements can be made.
31:02 An employee’s sick leave accumulation under Article 26 will not be reduced to less than twelve (12) days per year as a result of the application of this provision.
Family Related Leave. (a) The Association shall provide the President with up to 35 hours of family related leave per annum.
(b) For the purposes of Family Related Leave, "family member" is defined as spouse (including common-law spouse resident with the employee), dependent children (including children of married spouse or common-law spouse), parents (including stepparents or xxxxxx parents), or any relative residing in the President's household or with whom the President permanently resides.
(i) The Association shall grant leave with pay to the President:
(A) of up to 3.5 hours for family member's medical or dental appointment or for an appointment with school authorities or adoption agencies.
(B) when circumstances involving illness in the family preclude the President from reporting for duty.
(C) of up to 7 hours for needs directly related to the birth or adoption of a child.
(D) when the school or daycare center of the President's child is closed for unforeseen reasons and the President has not been able to make alternate arrangements.
(ii) The total leave with pay which may be granted under sub-clauses
(a) (i), (ii), (iii) and (iv) shall not exceed thirty-five (35) hours in a fiscal year and such leave will not be unreasonably withheld.
(c) The Association shall grant leave with pay to the President of up 3.5 hours for a medical or dental appointment to a maximum 3 days (21 hours) per annum.
