Fertilizer. C.11.1. The Contractor shall fertilize and lime the soil to promote proper health, growth, color, and appearance of cultivated vegetation, following proper horticultural practice for the types of vegetation, soil, weather conditions, and seasons of the year.
C.11.2. The Contractor shall present the method of application, fertilizer type, frequencies, and dates of fertilizing and xxxxxx in the Grounds Maintenance Plan. The fertilizer type shall be approved by the COR.
C.11.3. The Contractor shall fertilize the lawn areas a minimum of two times per year.
C.11.4. The Contractor shall apply weed killer once a year. If weed killer is not required, the Contractor shall request a waiver in writing from the COR. The type of weed killer shall be approved by the COR.
C.11.5. The Contractor shall fertilize trees, shrubs, bushes, xxxxxx and plants a minimum of once a year.
Fertilizer. Spring application fertilizer applied to planted and regenerated areas will be the actual number of pounds (kilograms) placed and accepted. Fertilizer, lime, and plant topsoil used in prepared plant topsoil or plant bed preparation are not measured for separate payment. For stream buffer and xxxxx areas, the addition of fertilizer or lime is prohibited.
Fertilizer. All grades of fertilizer applied in the spring, measured as specified above, are paid for at the Contract Price per pound (kilogram) or per ton (megagram), whichever is indicated in the Proposal. Payment is full compensation for furnishing and applying and for watering regenerated areas. a. A minimum of one spring and one late fall application would be needed for irrigated turf.
b. Recommend fertilizer blends for spring and fall are as followed:
i. Spring: Slow release N20 P5 K10 with 3% Fe 10%S and 50% Sulfur Coated Urea as the Nitrogen form.
ii. Fall: Slow release N24 P0 K12 with 3% Fe 12%S and 50% Sulfur Coated Urea as the Nitrogen form. One lb of nitrogen per 1000 sq ft shall be applied per application.
c. Sidewalks and other hard surfaced areas are to be cleaned after fertilizer has been applied to avoid staining from the iron.
