A specific regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council (No 2232/96)12 lays down a procedure for the establishment of a list of authorised flavouring substances. In application of this Regulation, a register of about 2,700 flavourings used by the food industry in or on foodstuffs in the Member States was adopted. The full database is available at xxxx://xx.xxxxxx.xx/food/food/chemicalsafety/flavouring/database/dsp_search.cfm. EFSA is currently evaluating the safety of flavourings by means of a procedure developed by the Joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives and adopted by the Scientific Committee for Food13. The final objective is the establishment of a positive list of these substances following a stepwise approach. In practice, the procedure for the safety evaluation of flavourings integrates information on intake from current uses, structure–activity relationships, metabolism and toxicity. One of the key elements in the procedure is the adoption of the Threshold of Toxicological Concern (TTC) principle. The Scientific Panel on Food Additives, Flavourings, Processing Aids, and Materials in Contact with Food (AFC Panel) of EFSA is currently perfo...

In addition, work on unexpected breakdowns, which can be corrected in limited time duration. Should a portion of the project be affected by wet weather, all other employees not so affected shall continue working in accordance with award conditions, regardless that some employees may be entitled to cease work due to wet weather. If a halt to productive work occurs due to inclement weather, the parties agree that employees may be relocated to other unaffected sites.
