It serves as a qualification recognising continuing professional development in the same area as the candidate's original degree. A candidate will normally have completed all requirements of a Bachelor’s Degree or, in special circumstances, a Bachelor’s Degree with Honours. The Postgraduate Certificate is designed to extend and deepen a candidate's knowledge and skills through formal instruction and directed inquiry. Postgraduate Certificates require a Bachelor’s Degree in a cognate subject or relevant skills and knowledge acquired through appropriate work or professional experience. A graduate of a Postgraduate Certificate programme is able to: • acquire and possess knowledge, analyse, and solve problems, work, and study independently; and • demonstrate intellectual independence, analytic rigour, and sound communication skills.
