Common use of Grievance Preparation Clause in Contracts

Grievance Preparation. A grievant or a grievant's representative who is a County employee shall not leave his/her job to perform any grievance preparation work unless he/she receives permission from his/her supervisor. Such time off shall be granted within three (3) working days except in emergencies. When a grievant or any representative must go into a section, department, or work unit to investigate a grievance, he/she shall be permitted to do so, provided he/she explains the purpose of the visit and whom he/she is visiting to the supervisor of said section, department or work unit. If immediate access cannot be granted upon request, it shall be granted within three (3) working days.
